Question
From the Bar Arthur asks:
Is Charles "The Hammer" Talbot a reference to Charles Martel?
Answer
John says: Yes.
Question
From the Bar Jon asks: I keep thinking that, if you strip the verbage
and have an actual plot that doesn't involve hundred of pages of just
walking around (paging Mr. Tolkien...), the Council Wars series is the
First Age of the LOTR universe.
And, that the tech limitations will be encased in stone by the Elves,
because they hate all the chaotic change that's going on (by their
standards), i.e. there will never be a reforming of the Council or a
restortation of the pre-Fall world.
Answer
John
says: I'd hoped that it would be pretty clear. Although it's actually
closer to the "Breaking of Magic" in The Wheel That Never Stops.
Question
From
the Bar Jayson asks: I am curious if the next book in this series is in
the works yet. I could gush about the books, but I'm hardly a critical
reader so it wouldn't mean much. Just have to say ya gotta love the
Bun-Bun anti-ship catapult. That and I feel sorry for whoever starts up
as a door-to-door salesman, that being the closest thing to
telemarketers he is likely to find for a while.
Answer
John says: For the time being I'm working on other stuff, so there may
be a Robert Jordan-like delay before the fifth book (On Hero's Trail,
working title) is out. And that's, minimum, 2007.
